Its subsidiary Cornerstone Payment Solutions Ltd, is an FCA-regulated e-money institution. James Hickman also serves as a non-executive director at the UK entity of German-Cypriot high-risk payment processor Payabl, founded and controlled by former Wirecard executives Ruediger Trautmann and Dietmar Knoechelmann.

Short Personal Profile

Cornerstone FS plc is a payment group aiming at SMEs. It provides international payment, currency risk management, and electronic account services using a proprietary cloud-based multi-currency payments platform. These services are delivered directly and via white-label partners on a SaaS basis. James Hickman has been serving as CEO since Sept 2023 (press release).

Before Cornerstone, James was Chief Revenue Officer at Dublin-based fintech business, Fire Financial Services Ltd. He spent nearly five years as Chief Commercial Officer at AIM-quoted Equals plc, where his role also included investor relations, fundraising, and strategic acquisitions.

In October 2022, James was appointed as a non-executive director at Payabl. (UK) Ltd, a subsidiary of the Cypriot payment institution Payabl.Cy Ltd.

We do not know whether and which connections between AIM-listed Cornerstone FS and the Payabl Group still exist or which interests James Hickman represents at Payabl. Rumors about a (reverse) takeover have not yet been heard.
